Breaking into the business in the early 1970s, Harley Cokeliss has helmed many a genre favourite over the decades. Having made Britain his home in the ‘60s, Harley learnt his craft at the London Film School before going on to have a successful career in the world of both film and TV.
From making the first filmed version of J.G. Ballard’s Crash in 1971, to working on The Empire Strikes Back, to writing and directing 1988’s terrifying and twisted Dream Demon, to directing episodes of shows such as Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Xena: Warrior Princess, and The Immortal, to 2010’s mystery movie Paris Connections.
He is a director, writer, editor and even actor who has worked in many facets of genre and who is the very definition of a perfect guest for the premiere edition of the STARBURST International Film Festival.
BFI DVD Presents: Glitterball
Harley will be talking about the making of the childrens classic Glitterball as part of the BFI DVD Presents sessions.
